Recently, two three-axle car-carrier semi-trailers—custom-built and adapted for Central Asian road conditions—successfully passed final inspection and acceptance. They were shipped via the Khorgos Port and officially delivered to a major local logistics enterprise. Designed specifically for long-distance cross-border transit and urban vehicle distribution in Central Asia, this batch of specialized carriers will enhance local vehicle transport efficiency and support the smooth, high-efficiency operation of cross-border automotive logistics corridors.

Three-Axle Car-Carrier Semi-Trailer Configuration

These units are mainstream three-axle, ten-vehicle capacity semi-trailers, representing high-end, customized models optimized for Central Asian operating conditions. Featuring a three-axle configuration and a rated load capacity of 60–70 tons, they are equipped with 12 tires and can transport up to 10 vehicles—including sedans, SUVs, MPVs, pickup trucks, and other passenger vehicles—per trip. Their high capacity and versatility make them ideally suited for transporting the large volume of Chinese new energy passenger vehicles currently being imported to the region.

Regarding operational design, the trailers feature a height-adjustable upper deck and versatile lifting mechanisms that can be configured to meet specific customer needs. This greatly simplifies loading and unloading processes and significantly boosts operational efficiency. Once loaded, the vehicle’s center of gravity is effectively lowered, ensuring superior stability and safety during long-distance, cross-border journeys across Central Asia’s complex terrain.

Manufacturing, Materials, and Specifications

In terms of manufacturing, materials, and specifications, the trailers measure between 15,800–21,000 mm in length, 2,400 mm in width, and 3,000 mm in height, with a rear-wheel track of 1,840 mm, ensuring standardized dimensions and broad compatibility.

The main frame is constructed from high-strength Q345 manganese steel plate, utilizing fully automatic submerged-arc welding and CO2 gas-shielded welding processes. The resulting uniform welds and robust structure provide excellent resistance to vibration and fatigue, making the vehicles highly suitable for long-distance cross-border transport in Central Asia.

Furthermore, the design prioritizes high strength and lightweight construction. By reducing the vehicle’s own weight while maintaining a heavy-duty load capacity of 60–70 tons, the trailers offer improved fuel efficiency and overall performance.

The chassis offers a choice of 3mm flat steel or diamond-pattern steel plating and features a highly stable leaf-spring suspension system. With a rated load capacity of 30–50 tons, it ensures balanced weight distribution and a smooth ride.

The vehicle is equipped with a 28-ton high-strength landing gear and an interchangeable 2-inch/3.5-inch kingpin, making it compatible with mainstream local tractor units and highly versatile.

Safety and Functional Configuration

In terms of safety, these tri-axle car-carrier semi-trailers boast comprehensive configurations and outstanding safety performance. They utilize a dual-circuit compressed air braking system equipped with automatic brake chambers and independent parking brakes, ensuring responsive braking and high stability—critical for navigating complex conditions such as mountainous terrain and long descents.

A standard drip-type brake cooling system effectively prevents overheating during long-distance travel, significantly enhancing safety for cross-border transport.

Additionally, the trailers come fully equipped with tool storage boxes, dedicated spare tire racks, and height-adjustment frames, meeting all maintenance needs for long-haul operations abroad.

The upper-deck lifting system supports three operation modes—hydraulic cylinder lifting, wire rope traction, and manual chain hoist lifting—allowing the vertical clearance between decks to be adjusted freely within a 50cm range. This flexibility enables the transport of a wider variety of vehicle models and ensures a lower center of gravity when loaded, resulting in safer and more stable driving.
